In 1990, 24-year-old computer-animator Phil Vischer sat down to create a group of characters that could teach Christian values to kids in a delightfully weird way. Hence, a tomato named Bob and a cucumber named Larry were born. VeggieTales would go on to revolutionize Christian filmmaking, selling more than 50 million videos and placing Phil's faith-filled stories in one of every three American households with young children. Phil continues to pursue new ways to integrate faith and storytelling through his new company, Jellyfish Labs.

Through her videos, high-energy live
performances and work with charities and
missions, Miss PattyCake, represented by
Jean Thomason, has proven to be an unusually
successful real-life character in an age
largely dominated by animation. Dressed in a
colorful jumper, white gloves and black hat
with a polka-dotted bow, there’s little
question that Miss PattyCake has won the
attention and hearts hundreds of thousands
of toddlers and pre-school kids. But it’s
Miss PattyCake’s message—one which invites
children and parents alike to talk about the
love of God—that makes her stand out among
children’s entertainers. |

Bibleman/Josh Carpenter, played by
children's pastor Robert T Schlipp, is
joined by series favorites including Cypher
(Brady Williams) and Melody (Lindsay Lewis)
for the first new studio DVD in nearly two
years and the first produced in partnership
with Tommy Nelson Publishing. With two new
releases planned each year, each DVD will
entertain and teach kids valuable lessons
from a Christian perspective. |
